Namiki Apartments Senior Housing
San Francisco

Centrally located in Japantown, the Namiki Apartments has provided high quality low income senior housing since its completion in the late 70’s. However, due to the limited budget in its initial construction, the non pressure treated timber used in its balconies showed extreme signs of dry rot and was in need of major repair. In addition to complete deck and guardrail redesign and replacement, the scope of work included interior renovation of the building’s common areas -2050 SF, comprising complete ADA upgrades to all public zones and rehabilitation of 4 of 34 of its residential units for full Disabled Accessiblity. The entire project was designed, approved, and built within 12 months as a condition of the loan. All balconies were remodeled from the outside and units were modernized in record time while inhabited.
